Politics As Usual

It’s officially 92 days until the 2012 Presidential election.

President Obama is fighting to keep his job and frankly, he has some strong competition. Republicans do not want to see the President have a second term. If we thought it was hard in 2008, we’re in for an uphill climb.

The problem is I think we’re not as fired up as we were back in 2008. I think we feel like it’s a given that he will win. But I’m not so sure. There are so many people with millions and billions of dollars and they’re putting their money where their mouth is.  It is up to us to make sure that we are contributing to the campaign and getting the word out to the masses.

First things first: Are you registered to vote? If not, there are several places where you can register to vote.
Here’s some information about where you can register to vote in your city:

Second thing: Read everything you can about the candidates and the election. There are a lot of lies and falsehoods that are being spread from both sides. Make sure that read and research the candidates before you make a decision.

Thirdly and most importantly, please VOTE! If you vote, then your voice will be heard. You have the right to complain and you are a part of the political process. More importantly, your (most people) ancestors died for you to have a right to vote. It’s disrespectful to them for you to just sit on your ass instead of casting your vote.

Be heard.
Vote.

Voting for Hyde Park’s Finest in the fall,
Veronica
