Fighting the Woman in the Mirror

I have so many goals for the upcoming year. I finally finished my Masters degree (yay!) and I literally have the world at my fingertips.

But there’s this little voice that seems to pop up anytime I want to make a major life decision.

Self-doubt.

Self-doubt is the number one killer of all dreams. There’s nothing that can hold anyone back from doing anything except that terrible little voice inside yourself which says “You can’t.” This year, I’m working on something BIG. Like really BIG. I don’t want to speak on it just yet because I have so many things to work out and work on before this plan comes into fruition. But trust me, it’s life-changing.

I am also a deep lover of self-help books. I have a few titles that I love including Do You! By Russell Simmons, and If You Think You Canby TJ. Hoisington. Self-help books are a great way to remind you to keep going. They can help you stay on your path to greatness. I turn to them as a constant source of inspiration.

Here are a few quotes that keep me going:

Ultimately, it is not the external circumstances or conditions that limit you. It is you! It is your negative thoughts, comfort zones, self-defeating habits, poor strategies, blame lists, or even your failure to continuously educate yourself and grow. ~TJ Hoisington, If You Think You Can!

The biggest thing that separates you from the success that you seek is fear. Not a lack of money, or a lack of opportunity, or even a lack of talent, but an abundance of fear. ~ Russell Simmons, Do You! 12 Laws to Access the Power in You to Achieve Happiness and Success

I’m working on developing a mantra for myself to keep the faith. Mantras are a great way to remind yourself that stay focused. I’m sure you’ve all heard Diddy’s mantra, “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop” and we see how well that has turned out. I think I’ll steal that one for now until I develop my own.

Do you find yourself fighting self-doubt? What are some tips or tactics that you use to keep going?

Hopeful and Encouraged,
Veronica
