Still Standing

What is your definition of faith?

What keeps you going? When the chips are down and the times are tough, what keeps you getting out of bed everyday?

I think for me, it’s not wanting to ever have to eat ramen noodles and hot dogs again ever in life. I really can’t stand when someone asks me do I want a hot dog. Hell-to-the-no! I was forced to eat too many of those in my youth. It is also the drive of wanting better for myself. I want a closet like Kimora and a brand like Sean Jean. I have BIG dreams and none of those will come into fruition if I wallow in depression.

I have a friend that has been dealt with crushing blows in her life. But when faced with adversity, she always seems to find a way to triumph. She recently had another setback and now she’s questioning her faith.

“I’ve been believing all this time that something positive will happen but it’s always something,” she said.

She’s right. There is always something.

But it’s that something that should serve as a reminder that everyday is a new day and battles are being fought everyday to obtain joy and happiness. You have to BELIEVE that great things are coming your way. Even if you choose to not turn to God, you have to turn to positive energy. You have to plant the optimistic seeds for your success tree to grow. You have to BELIEVE. In yourself, in opportunities and in a greater force.
